The contract for the implementation of this investment was signed with the Gda\u0144sk Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways on 3 September 2010. Its net value is PLN 250.8 million.<\/p>\n

The bridge over the Vistula River runs along the national road No. 90. It connects the national road No. 1 \u2013 lying on the western side of the river with the national road No. 55 \u2013 lying on its eastern side.<\/p>\n

The bridge crossing consists of access flyovers over the floodplain and the main bridge.<\/p>\n

The main route of the crossing is 11.9 km long.<\/p>\n

It includes the following engineering structures:<\/p>\n

\u2013 a bridge over the Vistula River with a length of 808.5 m and a total width of 15.9 m,
\u2013 three flyovers with a total length of approx. 1 km,
\u2013 a bridge over the Struga M\u0142y\u0144ska River (25 m) and over the Liwa River (51.6 m), three crossings for
animals, a farm passage and a dozen or so culverts, which at the same time
the function of passages for small animals.<\/p>\n

As part of the investment, the intersection with the national road No. 91 was also rebuilt (at the beginning of the designed section) and five new intersections were built \u2013 including two two-level intersections, roundabouts (at the end of the designed section) and 17 local and access roads with a total length of approx. 9 km. Flood embankments were also sealed, and over 7 km of noise barriers were installed.<\/p>\n

The construction of an extradosed bridge with this span is a pioneering project on a European scale; so far, facilities with comparable spans have been built in Japan (two) and Switzerland (one).<\/p>\n

The extradosed bridge combines the idea of a cable-stayed bridge and a prestressed beam bridge. Some of the prestressing cables are routed outside the girder cross-section. The spans on this type of structures range from 100 to 200 meters. In the case of the crossing in Kwidzyn, they range from 130 to 204 m and it is a bridge with the largest span in Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
