The runway was put into service on\u00a0August 15. Faster completion of the works also means the end of nuisance related to\u00a0temporary air traffic for the residents of the Ursus and Ursyn\u00f3w districts.
5 April 2013 Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the expansion of the take-off area at\u00a0Warsaw Airport um. Fryderyk Chopin with the \u201cPolish Airports\u201d State Enterprise. The scope of work includes the complete demolition of two aprons (No. 2 and 4) along with the taxiway and technical roads, the extension of the existing apron (No. 6), the reconstruction of the runway and the construction of a\u00a0new apron and apron taxiways. Complete underground and above-ground infrastructure, new technical roads and service areas to\u00a0service the rebuilt manoeuvring area will also be\u00a0built.
Thanks to\u00a0the reconstruction, the airport will gain an additional stand for de-icing aircraft and new parking spaces.<\/p>\n

The contract value is PLN 106.9 million net. The works began on\u00a022 April 2013. and according to\u00a0the schedule, they will end after 16 months.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
