Budimex has signed a contract for the construction of section No. 3 of the S17 expressway on the Piaski \u2013 Hrebenne route. The contract value amounts to PLN 781 million net. The new route consists of two two-lane roadways with an emergency lane. The S17 will contribute to the creation of a convenient road connection with Ukraine.<\/strong> The works start on the day of signing the contract.<\/strong><\/p>

According to the contract, the contractor has 41 months to complete the investment, not including winter periods. Section No. 3 under construction involves works from the “Krasnystaw P\u00f3\u0142noc” junction to the “Izbica” junction, which is 18.8 km long in total. The new section of the S17 expressway will also be implemented in the “design and build” system. The scope of the contract includes the development of the Project and obtaining the ZRID Decision and the performance of all necessary works for the proper functioning of the expressway, in accordance with applicable law.  <\/p>

The contract includes, among m.in, reconstruction of roads colliding with the planned expressway, construction of road junctions, Motorway Service Areas and engineering structures. The construction of roads for pedestrians and cyclists, a rainwater retention system and environmental protection installations, as well as planting greenery are also planned. Before the start of each investment, Budimex protects trees against mechanical damage, and increases the area of green areas during the works.<\/p>

– The new S17 Piaski \u2013 Hrebenne expressway will significantly improve the road connection with Ukraine, which is of great economic importance for Polish and the European Union. Our experienced team is fully prepared to carry out this section. I am sure that our actions will improve transport in the Lubelskie Voivodeship and contribute to the development of infrastructure in the region. We are glad that our competences are being used in the construction of a significant part of this connection, which is important for the region and the country,”<\/em> emphasizes Wojciech Majdy\u015b, Regional Director at Budimex SA.<\/strong><\/p>

The S17 Piaski \u2013 Hrebenne section is one of the key sections of the S17 route, which connects Warsaw, Lublin, Zamo\u015b\u0107, Tomasz\u00f3w Lubelski and Hrebenne (state border). It is also part of the international route E372, leading from Warsaw to Lviv. The route will connect with the S12 Piaski \u2013 Dorohusk expressway at the Piaski Wsch\u00f3d junction and with the S19 (Via Carpatia) on the Lublin bypass. The total length of the S17 expressway from Piaski, located near Lublin, to the border with Ukraine in Hrebenne will be about 125 km.<\/p>

Budimex will carry out the task in the “design and build” formula. This means that the contractor is responsible for preparing full technical documentation, including the construction design, obtaining a decision on the permit for the implementation of the road investment, and then carrying out construction works in accordance with this design. Section No. 3 of the S17 will be the third section of this expressway, the construction of which is currently being carried out by Budimex.<\/p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n
