Budimex, the leading Polish general contractor, is implementing six sections of the S10 expressway under construction. Yesterday, on\u00a027 November this year, the investor submitted an application for a\u00a0decision on\u00a0a\u00a0permit for the construction of the section between the Szczecin Kijewo junction and the Szczecin Zdunowo junction, for which Budimex is responsible. This is the first key step for the contract signed at\u00a0the end of January 2025. After obtaining the decision, GDDIKA will be\u00a0able to\u00a0hand over the construction site and enable the start of field work.<\/strong><\/p>

Work on\u00a0the preparation of the construction project lasted 10 months and was completed according to\u00a0the schedule. Budimex assumes that the processing of the application for ZRID will take about seven months, and the actual implementation of the construction works will take another 22 months. Winter periods from 16 December to\u00a015 March will be\u00a0excluded from the implementation period. The investment is expected to\u00a0be\u00a0completed in\u00a0October 2028.<\/p>

“Our design team worked intensively from the first day of the contract to\u00a0prepare the construction project within the stipulated deadline. We\u00a0are ready to\u00a0start work in\u00a0the field and implement the investment with the highest quality and safety standards after obtaining the decision,” <\/em>says Rados\u0142aw Kozi\u0144ski, Contract Manager at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/strong><\/p>

4.4 km of new route <\/strong><\/p>

The contract worth PLN 204 million gross includes the construction of a\u00a04.4-kilometer section of the S10 expressway, running on\u00a0the northern side of the P\u0142onia housing estate in\u00a0Szczecin. The new route will start at\u00a0the Szczecin Kijewo junction, which connects the S10 expressway with the A6 motorway, and will end at\u00a0the junction with the existing section of the S10 beyond the administrative border of Szczecin. The construction of this section will allow transit traffic to\u00a0be\u00a0diverted outside built-up areas, improving the flow of communication and travel safety.<\/p>

As part of the project, the construction of the Szczecin P\u0142onia and Szczecin Zdunowo junctions is planned. Engineering facilities will also be\u00a0built, including a\u00a0bridge over the P\u0142onia River with a\u00a0lower passage for animals, two upper animal crossings, two road viaducts and a\u00a0facility intended for pedestrian and bicycle traffic under the route.<\/p>

The importance of the S10 for the regions and the national transport network<\/strong><\/p>

The S10 expressway will be\u00a0one of the key transport links in\u00a0Poland. Ultimately, it will connect Szczecin with the Warsaw agglomeration, running through Pi\u0142a, Bydgoszcz and Toru\u0144. The entire route, about 410 km long, has been included in\u00a0the Government Programme for the Construction of National Roads until 2030. The investment will create an alternative transport corridor north of the A2 motorway and strengthen communication between West Pomerania, northern Wielkopolska, Kujawy and Mazovia.<\/p>

Budimex has been developing Polish infrastructure for over 50 years and is the largest road contractor in\u00a0the country. Statistically, it is responsible for every fourth kilometre of newly built expressways in\u00a0Poland. On\u00a0the S10 route, it is implementing a\u00a0total of six sections between Szczecin and Pi\u0142a, which makes it the main contractor for this part of the investment.<\/p>
