Budimex, the leading Polish general contractor, has completed the construction of the Transfer Centre in\u00a0Sok\u00f3\u0142ka \u2013 a\u00a0modern complex integrating rail, bus and local transport. The new facility combines the nineteenth-century tradition of the place with the functionality of modern transport infrastructure and will be\u00a0an important communication point and space for residents.<\/strong><\/p>

The reconstruction of the Municipal Transfer Centre in\u00a0Sok\u00f3\u0142ka included the construction of a\u00a0new railway station building and the development of nearly 2 hectares of land around the Municipal Transfer Centre. The built, four-storey facility with a\u00a0height of over 16 m was designed as\u00a0a\u00a0multifunctional space for travelers and the local community. On\u00a0the ground floor level, there are, among m.in service premises, toilets and a\u00a0representative main hall serving as\u00a0a\u00a0waiting room. Office rooms are planned on\u00a0the upper floors.<\/p>

The new facility was built in\u00a0a\u00a0place of exceptional importance for the history of the city. The first station in\u00a0Sok\u00f3\u0142ka was built in\u00a01862 on\u00a0the strategic route of the Warsaw-Petersburg Railway and for decades was an important communication point of the region. Today’s Transfer Center refers to\u00a0this tradition, combining the historical character of the place with the modern functionality of the transport infrastructure

” The implementation of projects such as\u00a0the Transfer Center in\u00a0Sok\u00f3\u0142ka requires not only efficient organization of construction, but also very good communication with local institutions and residents. It was particularly important for us to\u00a0maintain the continuity of the functioning of the urban space during the works and to\u00a0create a\u00a0facility that will serve the residents of Sok\u00f3\u0142ka and the surrounding area for decades<\/em> ,” said Wojciech Szawiel, Contract Manager at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/strong><\/p>

The implementation of the investment also included a\u00a0wide range of infrastructure works and development of public space around the station. As\u00a0part of the project, m.in a\u00a0new rainwater sewer main, reconstruction and renovation of Kolejowa Street, a\u00a0representative square with a\u00a0fire road, parking spaces and bays for city and long-distance buses were made. In\u00a0the vicinity of the facility, bus stop and bicycle shelters, parking spaces for taxis, elements of street architecture and trees, shrubs and lawns were planted. The value of the contract amounted to\u00a0over PLN 43 million gross.<\/p>

Budimex has been implementing infrastructure and cubature investments in\u00a0the Podlaskie Voivodeship for many years. The most important projects of the company in\u00a0the region include, m.in, the Museum of Blessed Fr. Jerzy Popie\u0142uszko in\u00a0Okopy, which is being built as\u00a0part of the Podlaskie Museum in\u00a0Bia\u0142ystok. In\u00a0previous years, the company also completed the Sybir Memorial Museum in\u00a0Bia\u0142ystok, one of the most modern museum facilities in\u00a0Poland, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the renovation and modernization of the Railway Station in\u00a0Bia\u0142ystok. These projects show the wide range of Budimex activities in\u00a0the region, from roads and railways, through public infrastructure, to\u00a0prestigious cultural investments.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section> \n
