Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the construction of a\u00a0modern Uje\u015bcisko tram depot in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk with a\u00a0retention tank. The investment, in\u00a0the “design and build” formula, includes comprehensive design and construction of technical and track infrastructure and service facilities, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the construction of systems supporting the management of the facility along with pro-ecological solutions.<\/strong><\/p>

On April 1, 2026, a\u00a0contract was signed at\u00a0the Institute of Urban Culture in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk for the construction of the Uje\u015bcisko tram depot along with the construction of a\u00a0retention reservoir in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk in\u00a0the “design and build” formula. The event was attended by\u00a0representatives of the city authorities, including the Mayor of Gda\u0144sk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz and Deputy Mayors Piotr Grzelak and Piotr Borawski. On\u00a0the part of Budimex, the agreement was signed by\u00a0Mariusz Hyrulski, Director of the Budimex SA Branch.<\/p>

The project will be\u00a0implemented in\u00a0the “design and build” formula by\u00a0a\u00a0consortium in\u00a0which KZN Rail is responsible for the implementation of track elements. The scope of the investment includes the preparation of full design documentation for both the tram depot and the retention tank, and then the execution of comprehensive construction and installation works.<\/p>

As part of the task, m.in technical facilities will be\u00a0built, track and road infrastructure, power and teletechnical installations, a\u00a0traction substation and overhead contact line power supply systems. The investment also includes the implementation of a\u00a0modern depot management system (DMS), a\u00a0photovoltaic installation and solutions supporting the operational and environmental efficiency of the facility<\/p>

The project also envisages the construction of technical infrastructure for the needs of the rolling stock, including a\u00a0portal car wash enabling the washing of entire vehicles, a\u00a0sand distribution system, as\u00a0well as\u00a0equipping the depot with a\u00a0mobile lathe, scissor lifts and two-way trolleys. An integral part of the investment is also the construction of a\u00a0retention reservoir with elements of the water and sewage network.<\/p>

“The implementation of this project is not only about building modern transport infrastructure, but also about creating facilities that will respond to\u00a0the needs of the developing city and its residents. It is crucial for us to\u00a0integrate advanced technologies with solutions that increase the efficiency and reliability of the daily operation of the depot. It is an investment that will work for decades and support the sustainable development of public transport<\/em>,” says Mariusz Hurylski, Branch Director at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/strong><\/p>

” In the autumn of last year, we\u00a0presented the largest investment package in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk since Euro 2012. One of its key elements is the development of the southern districts of the city<\/em> ,” says Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gda\u0144sk.<\/strong> ” Today, we\u00a0are signing a\u00a0contract for the design and construction of a\u00a0modern tram depot, which will be\u00a0built in\u00a0the “design and build” formula and will serve the dynamically developing tram network in\u00a0the south of Gda\u0144sk. This is an investment worth PLN 321 million, of which PLN 274 million comes from the National Recovery Plan as\u00a0part of the green transition, which shows that we\u00a0are effectively reaching for European funds. The new depot is necessary both in\u00a0the context of the planned purchase of long trams and the further expansion of tram lines. We\u00a0hope that at\u00a0the beginning of 2030 we\u00a0will meet at\u00a0the opening of this strategic infrastructure for the city.<\/em><\/p>

The implementation of the investment was divided into stages including the preparation of design documentation and the execution of construction works for both parts of the task. The completion of all works is planned within 212 weeks from the signing of the contract, while the construction works for the depot will be\u00a0completed earlier \u2013 after 200 weeks.<\/p>

The value of the contract is over PLN 320 million gross.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section> \n
