Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the design and implementation of a\u00a0comprehensive reconstruction of the building at\u00a022 Kasprzaka Street in\u00a0Warsaw, which will become the new headquarters of the Jewish Theatre and the Labour Office m.st Warsaw. The cultural and social investment will be\u00a0implemented in\u00a0the “design and build” formula and will be\u00a0completed within 24 months of the conclusion of the contract.<\/strong><\/p>

The signing ceremony took place on\u00a02 April in\u00a0the building at\u00a022 Kasprzaka Street in\u00a0Warsaw, which will become the new headquarters of the Jewish Theatre. The document was signed by\u00a0Ewelina Degowska, Director of the Warsaw City Development Board, Go\u0142da Tencer, Director of the Estera Rachel and Ida Kami\u0144ski Jewish Theatre, and Cezary \u0141ysenko, Member of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer of Infrastructure and General Construction at\u00a0Budimex SA, with the participation of Aldona Machnowska-G\u00f3ra, Deputy Mayor of m.st Warsaw, and Agnieszka Wyrwa\u0142, Chairwoman of the Culture Committee of the Warsaw City Council.<\/p>

The scope of the investment includes a\u00a0comprehensive reconstruction of the existing building and the construction of new parts of the building for the needs of the Estera Rachel and Ida Kami\u0144ski Jewish Theatre \u2013 Yiddish Culture Centre. The works include, m.in the demolition of existing elements, including the “Leipzig” pavilion, the construction of a\u00a0new part of the building in\u00a0monolithic technology, the execution of general construction and installation works and the installation of modern stage technology. The investment will also include land development, making connections and obtaining an occupancy permit.<\/p>

Ultimately, the facility will have a\u00a0main stage with an audience of about 350 seats and a\u00a0chamber stage for 100 spectators, as\u00a0well as\u00a0educational and conference spaces. The usable area of the theatre part will be\u00a0over 3.5 thousand m\u00b2, while the part intended for the Labour Office will be\u00a0about 2.5 thousand m\u00b2.<\/p>

The project also includes the development of full design documentation and the implementation of space for the Labour Office on\u00a0the upper floors of the building. As\u00a0part of the works, elements of urban infrastructure will also be\u00a0made, including sidewalks and the development of the space around the facility. The value of the contract is PLN 115.2 million, and the time for its implementation is 24 months from the date of conclusion of the agreement.<\/p>

–<\/em> The implementationof this project is much more than another cubature investment for Budimex \u2013 it is a\u00a0participation in\u00a0creating a\u00a0place that will be\u00a0teeming with life, culture and history. Such projects are of particular value to\u00a0us, as\u00a0they combine high engineering requirements with responsibility for space important for the inhabitants of the capital and for the cultural heritage of Polish. They require not only engineering competence, but also sensitivity to\u00a0the role that this facility plays in the fabric of the city and the cultural memory of Warsaw,”<\/em> says Cezary \u0141ysenko, Member of the Management Board of Budimex SA.<\/strong><\/p>

“We\u00a0have taken the first step towards creating a\u00a0space on\u00a0the Warsaw cultural map for a\u00a0theatre of particular importance, both for the preservation of the heritage and the identity of the city,” <\/em>says Ewelina Degowska, Director of the Warsaw City Development Board, adding:<\/strong> “The combination of the cultural function with the social aspect is a\u00a0response to\u00a0the needs of contemporary Warsaw and the activation of its residents. <\/em><\/p>

For years, Budimex has been implementing investments related to\u00a0culture and national heritage, combining modern technological solutions with respect for the historical character of the facilities. The company’s portfolio includes numerous projects involving the construction, modernization and revitalization of museums and cultural institutions throughout Poland, actively co-creating the development of the national cultural infrastructure. Among the most prestigious projects of Budimex are also theatre and opera facilities. The company built one of the most recognizable theatre stages in\u00a0Poland \u2013 the Shakespeare Theatre in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk, and was also responsible for the revitalization of the Polish Theatre in\u00a0Szczecin, restoring its modern functionality while maintaining the historical character of the building.
