Budimex SA has completed the main works on\u00a0the construction of the “Fabryczna” receiving chamber, one of the key elements of the infrastructure accompanying the construction of the long-distance tunnel in\u00a0\u0141\u00f3d\u017a along the railway line No. 85. The completion of this stage paves the way for the start of further works related to\u00a0the construction of the “Fabryczna” turnout chamber, which is scheduled to\u00a0start in\u00a0July 2026.<\/strong><\/p>

The “Fabryczna” receiving chamber, implemented in\u00a0the very center of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, in\u00a0the vicinity of the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Fabryczna station and the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Cultural Center, was carried out as\u00a0part of the project “Construction of the retaining structure of the Retkinia chamber and the retaining structure of the Fabryczna turnout chamber” carried out at\u00a0the request of the Central Communication Port. The task has been carried out by\u00a0Budimex since April 2025 and its completion is due in\u00a0May 2026. Earlier, under the same contract, Budimex completed the Retkinia broadcasting chamber, so both ends necessary for tunnel works are already ready.<\/p>

As part of the work, slit walls were made with a\u00a0depth of up to\u00a036 meters, and the excavation at\u00a0the deepest point of the chamber reached 27 meters below ground level. For the purposes of the construction, approx. 6.5 thousand m\u00b3 of concrete and 850 tons of steel were installed, including nearly 9 tons of GFRP reinforcement placed in\u00a0the front wall, through which the TBM shield will pass in\u00a0the future. During the works, about 22 thousand m\u00b3 of ore was extracted. The completion of the construction of the receiving chamber means the completion of an important stage of the investment, and at\u00a0the same time preparation for the next phase of the project, i.e. the construction of the “Fabryczna” turnout chamber, which is planned for July 2026.<\/p>

“The completion of works on\u00a0the receiving chamber is the result of many months of intensive work by\u00a0the team and complicated works carried out in\u00a0demanding urban conditions. A\u00a0particular challenge was the implementation of geotechnical works and a\u00a0deep excavation in\u00a0a\u00a0compact development, with a\u00a0very limited space of the construction site at\u00a0the junction of as\u00a0many as\u00a0three investments. However, we\u00a0have managed to\u00a0effectively combine the quality of workmanship with maintaining the safety and continuity of the investments being implemented. This is an important step towards the start of the next stage of construction, i.e. the turnout chamber<\/em> \u2013 says Pawe\u0142 Parusel, Contract Director at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/strong><\/p>

The “Retkinia” and “Fabryczna” chambers are part of the investment, which will enable the construction of a\u00a0long-distance tunnel with a\u00a0length of approx. 4.6 km. In\u00a0the future, it will enable the connection of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a with Warsaw, Pozna\u0144 and Wroc\u0142aw by\u00a0high-speed rail, being an important part of the new railway system in\u00a0central Poland.<\/p>

As the leading general contractor in\u00a0Poland, Budimex implements key infrastructure investments, including railway, road, hydrotechnical and cubature projects. As\u00a0part of the activities related to\u00a0the construction of the infrastructure of the Port of Poland, the company is responsible for the construction of retaining structures for the chambers of the high-speed rail tunnel in\u00a0\u0141\u00f3d\u017a, and the total value of the contract is PLN 159 million net.<\/p>

At the same time, Budimex is involved in\u00a0a\u00a0number of other large railway projects in\u00a0Poland, in\u00a0particular in\u00a0the south of the country. The company is one of the key contractors of the “Pod\u0142\u0119\u017ce-Piekie\u0142ko” program \u2013 it has already commissioned a\u00a0section of line No. 104 on\u00a0the Chab\u00f3wka \u2013 Rabka Zaryte route, it is currently carrying out works on\u00a0the H\u00a0section of line No. 622 Szczyrzyc \u2013 Tymbark, and in\u00a0March 2026 it signed a\u00a0contract for the next stage of the investment, including line No. 622 Pod\u0142\u0119\u017ce \u2013 Gd\u00f3w and slip road No. 627. In\u00a0addition, Budimex is also implementing a\u00a0project on\u00a0the Limanowa \u2013 Kleczany section as\u00a0part of the modernization of line No. 104.<\/p><\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section> \n
