It was of strategic importance for improving the natural environment in\u00a0the Oder basin, and subsequently in\u00a0its receiver \u2013 the Baltic Sea. The capacity of the treatment plant was increased from a\u00a0flow of about 70 thousand. m\u00b3, to\u00a0about 140 thousand. m\u00b3 of wastewater per day. As\u00a0part of the investment, divided into two stages and four tasks, 34 new facilities, networks and elements of underground utilities as\u00a0well as\u00a0the necessary road infrastructure and land development were completed. The modernization and expansion of the treatment plant consisted in\u00a0adapting the existing facilities of the mechanical part to\u00a0the increased capacity of the treatment plant and equipping it with additional equipment. The Wroc\u0142aw Sewage Treatment Plant was the winner of the 10th edition of the \u201cLower Silesian Construction of the Year\u201d in\u00a0the category of \u201cCivil Engineering Buildings\u201d in\u00a02013. and Construction of the Year 2012\u2033 in\u00a0the category \u201cSewage Treatment Plants\u201d. The building area is 49 thousand. m2. The entire work was completed within 33 months.
