Applications for the third stage of the Green Stop campaign have started

 Budimex, the general contractor of the tram route to Wilanów, has started collecting applications from communities and cooperatives for the third stage of the Przystanek Zieleń campaign. This initiative aims to green the areas along the tram line under construction, and a total of 410 trees will be planted as part of it.

 The Green Stop campaign was announced by Budimex in 2022, and the first trees were planted at the beginning of 2023. The project is addressed to housing communities and cooperatives located in the districts of Mokotów and Wilanów. From among all the applications, Budimex first selects those communities or cooperatives that are closest to the construction of the tram route to Wilanów. In In total, as part of the Green Stop and compensatory plantings, over 1000 new trees will appear along the tram line to Wilanów.

In the first stage of the campaign, Japanese cherries, small-leaved limes and maples were planted. Budimex accepted applications from the cooperative until March 2023, as a result of which 130 new trees appeared in the spring. In the next stage of the campaign, carried out in October, Budimex, together with the communities involved, planted 150 new trees. In Mokotów and Wilanów, small-leaved lime trees, sawtooth cherries „Amanogawa” and „Kanzan” as well as common maples of „Drumondia” appeared.

Currently, the third stage of the campaign is starting, and the plantings are scheduled for spring 2024. This time, the general contractor plans to plant another 130 trees. Communities and cooperatives located in the Mokotów and Wilanów areas that want to take part in this ecological initiative can send applications until March 5, 2024. In order to take part in the campaign, communities and cooperatives must have land and resources that will enable long-term care of the planted trees. Budimex, Polish’s largest general construction contractor, has been responsible for the construction of the tram route to Wilanów since September 2022. The project, implemented under the contract with the investor – Warsaw Trams, is a key step in improving the quality of life of Warsaw residents. The largest tram investment in the city will connect Wola, Ochota, Dworzec Zachodni with Wilanów and Mokotów, creating new, effective connections in the capital. Thanks to this, the residents of Wilanów will be able to get to the city centre in less than 30 minutes during rush hour!
