Budimex has signed a contract for the construction of the DK-1 road junction in Częstochowa
Budimex will build the Al. Wojska Polskiego DK-1, along with the new route of DK-46 in Częstochowa. The investment will be carried out in the „Design and Build” formula, and the total amount of the contract is PLN 195.9 million. The junction is an important element of the road system of the Katowice Special Economic Zone, and its construction is important for the residents, as it completes the reconstruction of the city’s transport system.
As part of the contract, Budimex will build a road junction connecting Al. Wojska Polskiego DK-1 (currently DK-91) with the national road DK-46, along with a road viaduct. The investment also includes the construction of crossings and pedestrian and bicycle bridges, a bridge over the Warta River and bicycle paths.
The contract provides for the construction of a truck weighing station with a parking lot and monitoring at the entrance to the city, as well as works related to drainage, the implementation of the municipal technological sewage system, noise barriers and a system of variable message boards. The scope of work also includes demolition works of cubature facilities and the existing technical, road and rail infrastructure planned for reconstruction. The works will last 4 years, of which approx. 1.5 years for design, and 2.5 years for construction.
This is another project of Budimex in this region. In 2019, acting as part of a consortium, a 20-kilometre section of the A1 Częstochowa bypass was completed from the Blachownia junction to the Rząsawa junction.
