In the Universum Most Attractive Employers Poland 2018 ranking in the “Engineering” category, Budimex took second place among companies with which it is worth tying your career. Students from over 70 universities took part in the study and appreciated the m.in. factors such as high earnings, development prospects, and job security.
The awards were granted during the Universum Awards 2018 Gala. The best potential employers were selected in the nationwide Universum Talent Survey. It was attended by over 17.5 thousand students from 71 Polish universities, studying in 112 faculties, including business, engineering, IT, medicine, science, humanities and law.
Budimex better than global giants
Budimex took second place in the “Engineering” category, just behind Audi and ahead of companies such as Google, Microsoft, Rolls-Royce, IKEA, and Samsung Electronics Polska. The participants, whose task was to indicate the winners in the plebiscite, took into account several categories. For the majority, the most important were the amount of earnings (74 per cent) and the possibility of making a career (67 per cent). Young people also paid attention to the training and development prospects organized by companies (60 percent). In addition, employment security (57%) and respect for employees (55%) were important indicators. For engineering students, innovation was also an important criterion. More than half of them would also like to become experts in their field. On the other hand, the possibility of being promoted to team leader (19 per cent) is less important to them.
Investment in employee development
” This award is another confirmation for us that we are a company with which it is worth tying our future, and that our policy towards current and future employees is considered valuable and positively perceived ,” says Cezary Mączka, Member of the Management Board, Director of the Human Resources Management Division at Budimex. – We regularly organize industry training for our team, enriched with technical knowledge, but also developing soft skills. Actively in search of the best
Budimex also complies with a specially created Code of Ethics, which sets out the standards of conduct in relations with employees, investors and customers. Values such as ethics, cooperation, responsibility and ambition in all these areas play an important role in it.
The company is also actively looking for people who want to join its team. The wide range of activities means that it regularly employs specialists in various fields, m.in. engineers, designers, foremen, works and contract managers, but also carpenters, steel fixers, pavers, plasterers.
– One of our leading recruitment projects is the Budimex Academy addressed to students of cubature, road, bridge, railway, hydrotechnical, environmental engineering and energy construction. As part of it, there were, for example, meetings with our experts, who shared their experience and presented innovative solutions in civil engineering, communication and energy – adds Cezary Mączka. – We also used an online game, which was a simulation of events that can happen on a construction site. The best participants of the Academy can win summer or professional internships with us.
Budimex also runs a corporate website and a Facebook profile, where applicants can ask a question via Messenger. HR specialists look for candidates on LinkedIn and also cooperate with agencies.
This is yet another award for the company in the area of human resources. Previously, it was awarded the titles of Employer of the Year in Construction or Industry Leader in the Construction Category. The company was also at the forefront of the Ideal Employer, Company for an Engineer and Reliable Employer of the Year ranking in the Construction Industry.
