The construction of the Drezdenko bypass in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, carried out by Budimex SA, has just exceeded 90% of the progress of the works. The investment is entering the next stage, and the works are progressing according to the schedule. The new 3.56 km long route will significantly improve the safety and comfort of residents, relieving the city center of transit traffic.

The scope of the project includes the construction of a class G road, a bridge over the Noteć River and the Old Noteć River with a length of 346 m, a railway viaduct, four farm crossings and five animal crossings. The bypass will be connected to the existing road network through a roundabout in Klesno, which integrates voivodeship route No. 160 with road No. 156.

“The construction of the Drezdenko bypass is one of the key infrastructure projects in the northern part of the Lubuskie Voivodeship. Despite the terrain and hydrological challenges, we maintain a high pace of works and implement the next stages of the investment according to plan. This is an investment that will really improve the quality of life of residents,” says Sławomir Krekora, Contract Director at Budimex SA.

At the construction site, m.in 30 thousand m³ of soil replacements, 300 thousand m³ of road embankments, 11 thousand tons of aggregate foundation and 16 thousand tons of mineral-asphalt mixtures have already been carried out. Over 4.9 thousand m³ of concrete and 1300 tons of steel, including 700 tons of reinforcement and 630 tons of structural steel, were used for the construction of the bridge. The works are carried out with the use of modern technologies and geotechnical solutions, which allows to maintain the stability of embankments in floodplains.

The construction is carried out in the vicinity of Natura 2000 areas, which is why the project takes into account solutions minimizing the impact of the investment on the environment from the beginning. Special passages under the road body are planned to enable the migration of animals, as well as compensatory plantings and protective trees.

The new bypass is of strategic importance for Drezdenko and the surrounding towns. It will allow truck traffic to move out of the city center, where today there are dense and historic buildings. The new road will reduce noise, vibrations and exhaust emissions, improving the safety and comfort of life of residents.

The investment is being carried out at the request of the Voivodeship Roads Authority in Zielona Góra in the “optimize and build” formula with the financial support of the Government Road Development Fund for bypass tasks. The value of the contract is PLN 108 million gross. At its peak, more than 700 people worked on the construction site.
