Budimex is nearing the completion of foundation works on the construction site of the Jerzy Kukuczka Himalayan Centre in Katowice-Bogucice. The facility will be ready by the next Independence Day in 2026. Budimex has built many prestigious museum and cultural facilities in Poland. The largest of them is the Museum of Polish History in Warsaw. Over the last decade, Budimex has built over 12 museums of national heritage character in Warsaw, Katowice, Lublin, Białystok and Krakow.

The Himalayan Center is one of the most important cultural projects in Silesia – a modern facility that will commemorate the life and achievements of one of the most outstanding Polish Himalayan climbers. At the same time, the company began work on another national heritage object – the Museum of Blessed Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko in Okopy in Podlasie.

“The construction of cultural and national memory facilities is an honour and an obligation for us. Budimex is a company with over 57 years of tradition, which is always proud to engage in projects that strengthen the community and national identity. We want our projects to serve not only today’s customers, but also future generations,” says Artur Popko, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A.

The Jerzy Kukuczka Himalayan Center is being built in the birthplace of the legendary mountaineer. It will be a modern exhibition center dedicated to the history of Polish Himalayan climbing and the exploration of the highest mountains in the world. The building, worth over PLN 47 million, was designed as a space combining tradition and modernity – its interiors will include four thematic exhibitions, an auditorium, a snow grotto, a climbing wall and interactive multimedia stations.

Construction works on the investment site are entering the next phase. Most of the earthworks and foundations have already been completed, and construction work will begin in the coming weeks. The whole project is being implemented in the “design and build” formula, and the completion of the investment is planned for Q4. 2026

At the same time, the first construction works are underway in the Podlaskie Voivodeship at the Museum of Blessed Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko in Okopy. It is a special place – it is being built in the priest’s hometown, in the Suchowola commune. The new building will be part of the Podlaskie Museum in Białystok and will be financed, m.in by the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment (FEnIKS) programme. The value of the contract is PLN 44.27 million, and the completion of the investment is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Budimex has built many prestigious museum and cultural facilities in Poland. The most important are: the Museum of Polish History at the Warsaw Citadel, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, the Sybir Memorial Museum in Białystok, the Museum of Cursed Soldiers and Political Prisoners of the People’s Republic of Poland, the Museum of Municipal Engineering in Krakow and the Archive of New Records in Bydgoszcz. Each of these investments is an example of modern architecture in the service of national memory.

The Polish contractor is a domestic entity, based in Poland, with a strong, well-established position on the market. It has the technical facilities, resources and competences necessary to implement strategic investments in the country. It is a company employing Polish employees that cares about their development and building the competencies necessary to perform current market tasks. – says Artur Popko.

The role played by the company in the country’s economic system is also important

We have a well-established position as a reliable partner in the entire chain of suppliers and business partners. We give Polish local companies the opportunity to develop and support their activities. We have capital that invests in the development of the country, supporting economic growth and innovation of the Polish market. We conduct our business in a transparent and responsible manner, paying taxes in Poland and contributing to building the strength and competitiveness of the Polish economy ,” adds the President of Budimex

At the end of October this year, Budimex was awarded by the Ministry of Finance as the Largest CIT Payer in Poland in the construction industry category, which confirms the company’s significant contribution to the country’s economic development and responsible approach to conducting business.
