The Budimex Group has once again confirmed its position as the leader of the Polish construction market. The report “Polish construction companies 2025. The most important players, key growth factors and prospects for the development of the industry”, published by Deloitte, shows that Budimex ranks first in key industry rankings – in terms of revenues, sales result, net result and market value.

In 2024, the revenues of the fifteen largest construction companies in Poland totalled just over PLN 47 billion, which means an increase of 0.7% year-on-year. As in previous years, Budimex was the leader of the ranking with revenues exceeding PLN 9.1 billion.

Solid result despite difficult market conditions

In 2024, the Group achieved the highest result in the industry from sales, understood as the difference between operating revenues and cost of sales. It amounted to nearly PLN 1.2 billion, clearly ahead of the next entities in the list. For comparison, the second company in this ranking reached PLN 308 million. Although the average operating margin for the 15 largest construction companies decreased by 0.2% y/y in 2024, which shows the cost pressure in the sector, Budimex was among the companies with the highest operating profitability – the Group’s operating margin amounted to 12.75%, which means an increase of 1.27 p.p. compared to 2023.

Highest net result – eighth year in a row

In the ranking in terms of net result, the Budimex Group took first place for the eighth year in a row, achieving a net profit of PLN 623.6 million in 2024. Despite the fact that Budimex recorded a decrease in net profit by PLN 122.5 million, i.e. by 16.4% year-on-year, it maintained a clear advantage over the next entities in the ranking.

The results of the Deloitte report show the scale and stability of our operations in a challenging market environment. We focus on maintaining predictable financial results, diversifying revenue sources and further strengthening operational efficiency. It is also important for us to develop new business areas and manage investments responsibly in order to respond to the changing dynamics and needs of the market,” says Cezary Łysenko, Chief Operating Officer of Infrastructure and General Construction, Budimex SA.

Leader in capital expenditures

In 2024, the leader in terms of the nominal value of capital expenditures was the Budimex Group. Total expenditures amounted to over PLN 343.8 million and were higher by over PLN 101.5 million than in 2023. The scale of the investment confirms the consistent building of the Group’s operational and technological potential.

Budimex is also the leader in terms of nominal revenues from non-construction activities. In 2024, they amounted to approximately PLN 1.0 billion. They include, above all, service activities in the field of municipal waste management, comprehensive road maintenance, technical maintenance of buildings and the development of projects in the area of renewable energy sources.

Highest capitalization on the WSE

Since 2011, Budimex has remained the leader in terms of market value among construction companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. At the end of 2024, the company’s capitalization amounted to approx. PLN 11.9 billion, which means a decrease of 25.5% compared to 2023, while maintaining its position as the most valuable construction company on the public market.

Budimex’s strong market position is complemented by its contribution to public finances. The company remains the largest CIT payer in the construction industry – according to the data of the Ministry of Finance, in the last ten years it has transferred over PLN 1.5 billion to the state budget on account of this tax. The scale of taxes paid confirms Budimex’s permanent rooting in the national economy and its role as one of the pillars of the Polish construction sector.
