Budimex has signed a contract for the construction of the Radomsko bypass in the “design and build” formula. The new route, about 12 km long, will take transit traffic out of the city center, improving safety, traffic flow and comfort of life for residents. The value of the contract is PLN 214.1 million gross.
On January 15, 2026, a contract for the construction of the city bypass was signed at the City Hall in Radomsko. The event was attended by the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, and the investor was represented by the Director of the Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Łódź, Marcin Amróz. On the part of the general contractor, the contract was signed by Dariusz Demianiuk, Regional Director at Budimex SA.
The Radomsko bypass will be about 12 km long and will include both the new course of national road No. 42 and the extension and adaptation of a section of national road No. 91, including the section south of the city. The route will allow for the efficient takeover of transit traffic, in particular of heavy goods vehicles, which today pass through the center of Radomsko.
The scope of the contract includes the construction of intersections and roundabouts, access roads, drainage systems, lighting, pedestrian and bicycle routes and bays. The reconstruction of the collision with the existing technical infrastructure is also planned. As part of the investment, a total of 18 engineering structures will be built, including a bridge over the Warta River, which will be designed in a way that ensures the free flow of water and the migration of animals along the river valley. A viaduct over the railway line No. 1 Warsaw-Katowice will also be built, as well as smaller bridges, viaducts, animal crossings and culverts.
“The signing of the contract for the construction of the Radomsko bypass is an important event for both the city and our team. Thanks to this investment, transit traffic will be diverted from the city center, which will directly translate into improved safety, traffic flow and the level of exhaust emissions. Our priority will be the efficient implementation of the project, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards, as well as with the environment and ecology in mind,” said Dariusz Demianiuk, Regional Director at Budimex SA.
– The Radomsko bypass along DK42 and DK91 will significantly improve the communication system of the southern part of the Łódź Voivodeship, bypassing the city from the east, through the north, to the west, while diverting transit traffic out of its center. An important element will be a bridge that also serves as a passage for large animals, designed to reduce the impact of infrastructure on the environment and enable the safe migration of wild animals – says Marcin Amróz, Director of the Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Łódź.
The construction of the Radomsko bypass will be carried out in the “design and build” formula. Within 10 months of signing the contract, the contractor will submit complete applications for the issuance of a ZRID (Road Investment Permit) decision for three sections of the route. The entire task, including design, construction works and obtaining an occupancy permit, is to be completed within 39 months from the date of conclusion of the contract, excluding winter periods for field works.
The construction of the Radomsko bypass is another important road investment carried out by the leading Polish general contractor. Budimex SA, which has nearly 60 years of history on the domestic construction market, has experienced technical and decision-making facilities in Poland, employs thousands of employees and consistently invests in the development of competences – such as obtaining the ISO 19443 certificate, which confirms that the company meets the stringent quality and organizational requirements necessary to operate in the supply chain of the nuclear energy sector. Budimex regularly cooperates with Polish subcontractors and suppliers, and at the same time is one of the largest CIT payers in the construction industry, transferring over PLN 1.5 billion to the state budget in the last 10 years. Thanks to this, the company not only implements key infrastructure investments, but also really supports the development of the Polish economy and local communities.
