The 6th edition of the “Green Stop” programme implemented by Budimex, the leader of the Polish construction market, has come to an end. In this year’s autumn edition, the company planted 220 trees in the Wilanów and Mokotów districts. In total since the start of the program in 2023. Budimex has planted 1000 trees and 50 shrubs in Warsaw.
In this edition of the “Green Stop” project, Budimex carried out autumn plantings in cooperation with 17 Warsaw housing communities and cooperatives
– directly in the areas managed by them. Thanks to this initiative, we have planted 220 trees that complement the greenery of the housing estate and create friendly places to rest and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
“Przystanek Zieleń” is a social initiative of Budimex implemented during the construction of the tram route to Wilanów – an investment aimed at improving the quality of life of Warsaw residents. The route of the newly marked tram route connected Wola, Ochota and the Western Railway Station with Wilanów and Mokotów, which shortened the travel time from Wilanów to Śródmieście to a record 30 minutes during the most intense traffic hours.
One of the elements of the modernization of the surrounding areas are plantings. Warsaw Trams – as an investor – carried out replacement plantings including 600 plants. Regardless of this, Budimex planted an additional 1000 trees and 50 shrubs as part of the “Green Stop”. The program has been implemented since 2023 in various locations in Warsaw, in cooperation with cooperatives and housing communities.
As part of the previous editions of the program, m.in example, Japanese cherries ‘Kanzan’, ornamental apple trees (including ‘Brandywine’ and ‘Ola’), rowan ‘Edulis’ and catalpa ‘Nana’ were planted. The selection of species was consulted with experts in the field of dendrology and arboriculture.
– The Green Stop is not only new plantings, but also an opportunity for meetings and cooperation between residents. We want the urban space to develop not only functionally, but also in a friendly and comfortable way. The program combines planting trees and shrubs with building local relationships – together we create places where you can simply relax and catch your breath from the hustle and bustle of the city. – says Anna Karyś-Sosińska, Member of the Management Board of Budimex and Director of the Human Resources Management Division.
Budimex announces the continuation of the programme in other locations, in cooperation with cooperatives and housing communities.
