Budimex has completed works on an 18.9-kilometre section of the S5 expressway. Since 14 December, drivers have been driving on a modern road connecting Poznań and Wrocław. One of the most important contracts in the Wielkopolska Region was completed on time. The investor is the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Branch in Poznań.
The result of the construction works started by Budimex in January 2018 is the commissioning of the last section of the expressway along with the accompanying infrastructure. – The commissioned section closes the works on one of the most important stages of the construction of expressway No. 5 connecting Wrocław and Poznań We are glad that we have managed to carry out an investment of key importance for communication between the capitals of two large voivodeships and for the entire region so efficiently. Drivers driving along this route will certainly feel the difference in driving comfort – says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board, CEO of Budimex SA.

Some of the works, so far carried out by human hands, have been carried out in a much more automated way, using m.in for this purpose. sliding methods or 3D models –Adds. Thanks to the use of motion sensors and monitoring with on-line access, the method of securing the construction site has also been automated. The process of weighing materials delivered to the construction site was also modernized.
The value of the project is PLN 292.1 million. The opening of the new road will reduce the travel time on the Poznań-Wrocław route by 20 minutes, from two and a half hours to two hours and ten minutes, and will improve safety.
