The building of the State Archives in Bydgoszcz uses modern architectural, technological and IT solutions. The building has the form of a rectangular block, maintained in neutral colors. The external walls are made in the technology of ventilated concrete slabs façade and enriched with elements bordering on architecture and graphics. This technology, by breaking the light, in addition to its compositional significance, prevents the rooms from overheating.
The total area of the four-storey building is 8477.72 m2, with a built-up area of 2100.15 m2 and a cubic capacity of 23501.38 m³.The usable part is 7525.19 m2.The warehouses occupy 3854.48 m2. They will accommodate over 30 kilometers of running files. This will allow the Archive’s current resources, amounting to over 11 kilometers, to be almost tripled. Archival warehouses will be equipped with modern racking systems. Part of the storage space will be used as rooms with special conditions. Materials that require, m.in of reduced temperature, will be stored there.
