Budimex has signed a contract worth approximately PLN 95 million gross for the design and execution of the modernisation and expansion of the Viking’s Kitchen production and warehouse hall in Białystok. As part of the contract, the leading Polish general contractor will modernize about 8 thousand m² of the existing hall and add a two-level connector with an area of about 3 thousand m². Fresh ready meals will be prepared in the facility. The investment will be completed within 18 months.
The Viking’s Kitchen plant in Białystok will be transformed into a technologically advanced production and storage facility, where fresh ready meals will be prepared. The scope of works to be carried out by Budimex SA as the general contractor assumes that the structure of the building will be left and its remaining elements and installations will be completed from scratch. The facility will include, among m.in, a dry warehouse, cold and freezer rooms, goods picking zones, a flour products department with a confectionery and dumpling shop, and a vegetable peeling plant.
In the central part of the hall, space will be left to allow adaptation for the next stages of the plant’s development. A two-level connector with an area of about 3 thousand m² will also be added to the existing facility. On the ground floor of the new part, there will be additional production space, while on the first floor, office and social rooms and facilities related to quality control are planned. The investment will also create space for increased employment, which may translate into the creation of new jobs in the region.
The conceptual documentation also provides for the execution of external infrastructure, connections and thermal modernization, as well as the preparation of the facility for the installation of a 500 kWp photovoltaic installation.
– The construction of a production and warehouse hall for the Viking Kitchen will be an undertaking that requires close coordination of many specialist industries. Facilities intended for food production must meet particularly high technological, sanitary and fire protection requirements. Our task will be to create a modern, safe and business-efficient space that will support the further development of Viking’s Kitchen. We are glad that as Budimex we can use our experience and competence to support ambitious investments of Polish companies and their further development. This is an important project not only for our partner, but also for Białystok and the local economy ,” says Piotr Doroszko, Regional Director at Budimex SA.
” Białystok and the Podlaskie Voivodeship are the heart of our production, which is why this investment is much more than an expansion of the plant for us – it is a real contribution to the development of the region, which has been giving us space for growth for years. Today, we are one of the largest employers in the region, and this investment will confirm this even more – it is another new job and a real impulse for the local economy. We are proud that we can develop right here, together with Podlasie ,” says Łukasz Dawidziuk, President of Viking’s Kitchen.
“Białystok and the Podlaskie Voivodeship are the heart of our production, so this investment is much more than an expansion of the plant for us – it is a real contribution to the development of the region, which has been giving us room for growth for years. Advanced Plants for Food Production
Budimex will be responsible, among other things, for ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and chilled water systems, as well as for linear drainage planned
in production rooms. The project also provides for 18 ventilation systems and an extensive refrigeration infrastructure that will automatically control the temperature in the production areas. The total capacity of the cooling system is to be nearly 3.5 MW, and the efficiency of the ventilation systems is to exceed 300 thousand m³ of air per hour. In addition, compressed air, central washing, wastewater pre-treatment, water treatment and solutions for the removal and segregation of organic waste will be developed.
Budimex will prepare all the necessary connections and installations. The electricity in the production area will be distributed by busbars. The facility will also be covered by extensive telecommunication systems, including monitoring including about 150 cameras, access control, a fire alarm system and a BMS building management system.
From Shared Commitment to Business Collaboration
Budimex and Viking’s Kitchen have previously appeared side by side in the context of social activities. In April 2026, both brands were among the largest donors of the fundraiser organized by Łatwogang for the Cancer Fighters Foundation. Viking’s kitchen donated PLN 5.1 million for this purpose, and Budimex PLN 3 million. Both companies independently supported the same initiative, committing to a socially important cause. Today, Budimex and Kuchnia Vikinga are starting business cooperation on the implementation of a modern production and warehouse investment in Białystok.
